Sometimes, I find myself wishing I could be more like my dog, Shiloh! His greatest joy in life is simply being with me.

Don’t get me wrong—he’s all for a lively game of fetch and wouldn’t hesitate to devour an entire bag of dog food if given the chance. He also loves to dig up the backyard.

But the moment I even think about getting out of bed in the morning, he’s right there, ready for whatever adventure I’m about to embark on. As many of you know, Shiloh rarely wears a leash, and that’s not something I ever trained him for.

He just has this natural inclination to stay close to me. Unlike my other dogs, who needed lessons on following me without a leash, Shiloh has always been my loyal shadow from day one.

I find myself wishing I could have the same kind of faith in Jesus that Shiloh has in me. I want to wake up each morning filled with anticipation for the journey or challenge that awaits me, guided by Jesus.

Is anyone else working on that today? For me, it’s a constant struggle, especially now as I navigate the realities of being a mother—and a disabled one at that. I know people have their opinions and concerns, and while I often want to be in control of my life, I realize I’m at the mercy of those around me.

So, I guess what I’m admitting is that I can be a bit of a control freak. However, I’ve discovered that it’s much more fulfilling to fight for something greater than myself rather than trying to battle the world on my own.

That’s my aim—I choose life, I choose Jesus! I want to follow Him with the same enthusiasm and loyalty that Shiloh shows me every day.

Wishing you all an amazing day ahead!
